Tackling Dry Skin!

Do you suffer from dry skin? I do! So i've tried so many things to help get rid of it or at least make it less noticeable. I have found products and methods that help. I find my skin is mostly dry around my nose and cheeks. Sometimes between my eyebrows.

Firstly, Skincare! Dont over exfoliate, maybe 1-2 times a week, just to get rid of dead skin cells and prevent blackheads, clogged pores, acne etc! Exfoliating too much takes away all your skins natural oil/moisture! I find that its best to use a gel or cream cleanser. Its best to wash your face with lukewarm water instead of hot, because again, it takes away all that moisture in your skin. Also, after those long hot showers, be sure to moisturise your face and body because of all that steam and hot water! Moisturise before you put makeup on, let it soak in for about 5 minutes,( i know, five minutes! sounds like a long time) but it will let the moisturiser sink into your skin and wont have your makeup looking as cakey or dry when you apply it and it will make it last longer!

Secondly, products! I've tried nearly everything! My favourites have been, bio oil which you can use everywhere even on your face, it can help to fade acne scars. Don't be scared of it because it is an oil, just use a little bit at a time, it doesn't leave your face or body greasy if you use the right amount and massage it into your skin properly. You can get bio oil in pharmacy's/chemists/boots/superdrug/drugstores etc. Nivea is a great and affordable brand, all of their creams are decent and do the job! I cant complain about them. They also contain spf in some of their moisturisers! The next brand i have found to be great for moisturiser is oilatum. You can get them in boots. It is really good, it is a thick consistency, they have different types of moisturisers but they are all great. When you apply it, it is thick but you can feel instantly that your skin is soaking it all up! The next one i have loved it from a brand called la roche posay. Its a french brand i believe. It is a bit more pricey for a drugstore/pharmacy item but it is effective. You can get it in boots etc, the one i tried was £18. Bio oil you can get in a small bottle for £10, Nivea are all under £15 i would say. Olatium range from £8-£20. I am using a £10 one and it is 500ml! definitely worth the money. Cleansers, i have tried only neutrogena and nivea. Both brands do the job! They are affordable so i recommend checking them out! You can get them in boots/drugstores/pharmacys etc. Im not big on toners. So i tend to use just plain cold water, it closes your pores and helps wake up your skin etc!

Thirdly, methods! I found great, effective and affordable ways to help moisturise the skin! First thing is get some honey and cinnamon, mix together, microwave and mask your face with it! leave on for fifteen minutes and wash off with warm water. The honey helps to moisturise the skin amazingly! The cinnamon helps to kill bacteria, getting rid or preventing acne! how amazing is that!? Oats are a great cleanser! yes, the oats you eat for breakfast! Damp them in your hand slightly until it gets milky and then simply exfoliate your face with it! it adds so much moisture and gets rid of dry skin. Always remember to moisturise after these methods though!

This is just my opinion and what works for me, it is worth the try! I hope this helped, or you found this interesting! thank you for reading and if you have any questions just comment below!
